Another excellent day of Football played by the Greens today.
1st Game, Team: Callum Malpas, Harrison Vernon, Ben Stewart, Josh Mellor, Dylan Francis, Harvey Moores, Charlie Sumner.
Following a slow start the Greens upped the tempo and with some good pressing, forced the opposition to concede an own goal. they continued to press forward and when the opposition goalkeeper made a mistake Harvey Moores pounced to slot the ball home. the Greens continued to dominate play and just before half time Josh Mellor scored to make it 3-0 at half time, The opposition started the second half more determined and scored a goal to make it 3-1 but the Greens got back on top and continued to make chances, with the game nearing the end Dylan Francis scored to make it 4-1 at full time. MOTM Dylan Francis.
2nd Game, Team: Callum Malpas, Owen Steeles, Joe Ball, Joseph Armstrong, Alex Judd, Connor McBride, Lewis Taylor.
The Greens started really well with all the play and Lewis Taylor scored a very good headed goal, half way through the half Lewis scored again with a low shot into the corner of the net half time 2-0. In the second half it was all the Greens and Owen Steeles made it 3-0, there was no let up and Connor McBride made it 4-0. Owen Steeles was very unlucky with a flick that came back into play from the crossbar, he was also unlucky with a free kick that also came back into play from the crossbar, with the Greens pushing forward Lewis Taylor then scored his 3rd goal for his hat-trick, just before the end Lewis finished off a fine solo run with a shot into the far corner for his 4th goal, the ref then blew up for full time 6-0 MOTM Lewis Taylor.
With these 2 scores this puts the Greens at the top of the League on Goal difference.
